OUR SERVICES
Custom Garage Builder in Federal Way, WA
A good garage does more than park a car. It protects the vehicles you care about, gives your tools a real home, and makes room for the projects you enjoy. We design and build custom garages for homeowners in Federal Way and throughout the Puget Sound, from a clean two-car detached garage to a lift-ready workshop for a collector car, all planned around how you actually want to use the space.
Garages Planned Around How You'll Use Them
The first question we ask is not how big the garage should be, but what it is for. Parking and storage, weekend repairs, detailing, or a place to finally spread out a long-term project? The answer drives door placement, ceiling height, slab thickness, and how much power you will need. Getting it right early prevents the most frustrating garage mistake there is: a big new space with a ceiling too low for a lift or too few outlets for the tools.
From a Simple Detached Garage to a Collector's Workshop
A garage for two daily drivers and a garage for a collection, a race program, or a serious home workshop are very different builds. We plan each one around the vehicles and gear it will actually hold.
Projects we take on include:
Detached garages sized for one, two, or more vehicles
Purpose-built garages for car enthusiasts, collectors, exotic car owners, and motorsports families
Garages with dedicated workshop and hobby space
Attached garages and garage additions connected to the main house
Garages that are part of a larger whole-home remodel or addition
What Can Go Into Your Custom Garage?
Here is what a garage scope can cover, from the slab up:
Site preparation and foundation
Framing, roofing, and structural work
Expanded bays and oversized doors, so you can open every car door with room to spare
Lift-ready ceiling height and slab planning
Workshop zones and storage walls that keep tools within reach
Electrical and specialty lighting for detail work
Durable floor and wall surfaces that stand up to oil, tires, and Northwest moisture
Secure access and entry points
Siding, roofline, and trim matched to your home
How a Custom Garage Build Works With Us
We begin on your property, looking at where a garage can sit and what it needs to hold, along with your timing and early budget expectations. Then we define the scope and work out the design, engineering, and permitting the build needs. During construction, we coordinate the trades and any designer or supplier you already have, and give you regular updates until the final walkthrough.
Why Car Owners Choose Redline Services Group
The Redline name comes from owner Dan Garber's background in motorsports, where preparation, trust, and communication have to hold up under pressure. He brings that same mindset to every garage we build, because he knows a few inches of door clearance or a dedicated circuit can change how well the space works for you.

FAQ
How much does a custom garage cost?
Garage costs vary widely based on size, the number of bays, whether the garage is attached or detached, site conditions, and finish level. Lift-ready framing, added electrical, specialty lighting, and matching your home's exterior also affect the total. The most accurate number comes from a site visit and a conversation about how you plan to use the space, and we can price options side by side.
Do I need a permit to build a detached garage in Federal Way?
In most cases, yes. The City of Federal Way exempts one-story detached accessory structures from a building permit only when the floor area is 200 square feet or less, and a garage sized for vehicles is almost always larger. Separate permits can also apply to electrical and other work. Other cities set their own rules, so we confirm the requirements for your lot before construction starts.
Can you build a garage that is ready for a car lift?
Yes. It is one of the features car owners ask about most. Ceiling height, slab, and electrical needs are worked out during planning, before framing begins, so the garage is ready the day your lift goes in.
Should I build an attached or a detached garage?
It depends on your lot, setbacks, budget, and how you will use the space. An attached garage gives you direct access to the house, which is handy on rainy Northwest days. A detached garage allows more freedom on size and layout, and keeps workshop noise and fumes away from living areas. Seeing the lot in person usually makes the choice clear.
How long does a custom garage build take?
Timeline depends on size, finish level, site conditions, and permitting. A simple detached garage moves faster than a fully finished workshop with specialty features. We give you a project-specific timeline after the initial site visit, rather than a general estimate that may not fit your project.
Can the garage match the look of my house?
Yes. We coordinate rooflines, siding, and trim with your existing home wherever the design allows, so the finished garage feels like it belongs with the house, not like a box dropped on the lot.
Can you work with my architect or designer?
Absolutely. We coordinate with outside designers, architects, engineers, and product suppliers when the project calls for it, and keep everyone working from the same plan.
What's your service area for custom garage projects?
Federal Way is our home base. We also take on garage projects across King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Kitsap counties, including the greater Seattle and Tacoma area.
